07.22.08 The 4th annual Seguin Film & Arts Festival will run from October 24-26, 2008.

The 4th annual Seguin Film & Arts Festival is now accepting short films for this year’s competition to be held October 24-26 at the Palace Theatre in downtown Seguin. The winner of the festival will receive the Golden Pecan award to be presented on the evening of Saturday, October 25. A student competition will follow on October 26. Film festival entries must be received by September 19. Selected feature films will also be incorporated into the festival program.

The independent short film competition for 2008 will include a new category -- Short Short -- for films that are 5 minutes or less. Films entered in all other categories -- Documentary, Foreign Language, Drama, Comedy, Animation, and Horror -- must be 40 minutes or less. The student films are not divided into categories and all compete against each other.

Festival organizers are coordinating with the Seguin Main Street Program to bring a full day of activities to downtown Seguin. Besides a full day of film screenings, Saturday's events will also include Trade Days from 9am to 3pm and Hats Off to Juan Seguin later that evening following the festival awards presentation.
